Hypnotherapy Cheshire, Liverpool and Wirral
Hello and a very warm welcome
My Background and Qualifications:
MADipSW , BA Psychology/Sociology, Approved Mental Health Practitioner, Best Interests Assessor & Independent Best Interests Assessor, Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, Advanced NLP Practitioner, EFT Practitioner, Practical Mindfulness Coach.
Currently in advanced clinical training in Psychotherapy.
National statistics show that one person in four will experience some form of mental illness in their lives, others will experience stress through redundancy, grief or other issues. My philosophy is to allow people to be heard and use the skills I've developed over the years to work in a person-centred way to help clients build on their strengths and overcome the various challenges in their lives.
I've been a Mental Health Social Worker for 15 years, for much of this time I've been an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) and for the last 4 years a Best Interests Assessor (BIA).
I completed my first counselling course (person centred) in 1992 and I've continued to increase my skill base ever since. I've trained in Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural and Solution Focussed Therapy. I become a Master Clinical Hypnotherapist 7 years ago and subsequently a Master NLP Pratitioner, and EFT Practitioner. Mindfulness is one of my main interests and I find that it enhances the benefits of other modalities. I've been a Practical Mindfulness Coach working with groups for 3 years. I'm currently in Advanced Clinical Training for Psychotherapy.
I have considerable experience in working with people who have been abused at some point in their lives and people who live with high levels of stress and anxiety, for instance, carers often experience high levels of stress as a result of their caring responsibilities. I have found that a combination of approaches, depending on preference, can overcome or significantly reduce, the effects of stress and anxiety.
My practice covers Cheshire, Liverpool and Wirral. I use modern consulting rooms in Liverpool City Centre, these are wheelchair accessible. I also hold some sessions on my narrowboat which is based in Cheshire, and which tends to have a natural relaxing effect when people step aboard.
I can also offer an outreach service which means that I'm able to see some clients in their own homes, for instance, if they have practical difficulties with travel. This is dependent on discussion and availability.
I also work closely with another therapist experienced in the same modalities to provide full day mindfulness cruises.
